The MFA Grant Program was last awarded in 2012 and it is not being administered at this time. Please click here to learn about our new grant program for individual artists.
The MFA Grant Program was created in 1997 to assist painters & sculptors receiving their MFA degrees. The Foundation last awarded $15,000 to fifteen recipients. With these grants the Foundation aimed to further the recipients’ artistic careers and to aid, upon graduation, in the transition from academic to professional studio work.
Grants were given in recognition of artistic quality to artists chosen from a body of candidates put forth by nominators from MFA programs across the United States and applications were reviewed by a jury panel through an anonymous process.
1997-2011 MFA Grant Recipients were featured in group exhibitions at the CUE Art Foundation in New York City with an accompanying catalogue. 2012 MFA Grant Recipients were given the opportunity to apply for a Career Opportunity Grant of $2,000. As of February 2015, Career Opportunity Grants have been awarded to Weston Lambert, Grace Mikell, and Jack Pavlik.
