Education Programs Register for Classes
The Joan Mitchell Foundation will be making changes to the Art Education Program during the 2015/2016 program year. The Foundation has engaged professional artists to offer high quality arts education to young people in New York City since 1997. While the same programs will continue this year through June 11, 2016, after this date the Art Education Program will stop offering studio and portfolio development classes. From the summer of 2016 through the end of 2017, the Foundation will focus on research and will pilot innovative educational opportunities for the artist community. We look forward to sharing the new education model with you in 2018. We are not registering any new students, and please note there will be no Summer 2016 programming, including Summer Portfolio Intensive.
If you have any questions about the classes or changes in the Foundation’s Art Education Program, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As our studio and portfolio classes come to an end, our students and families will be looking for new opportunities to continue their arts education. To make this search easier, we have created a comprehensive resource directory of various ongoing programs and opportunities in the NYC area.
The Joan Mitchell Foundation NYC Youth Art Program Directory features organizations that offer similar programs, courses, internships, and volunteer opportunities for youth, teens, and young adults. The booklet is available to download for free here.
