Copyright & Reproduction Requests
Thank you for your interest in the work of Joan Mitchell. In order for us to process your request, please use the link at left to submit a copyright request. If you are unable to submit your request online, please e-mail lmorris@joanmitchellfoundation.org.
The Foundation will review submitted information and if we approve your request, we will prepare a written license agreement. The Foundation requires copies of the item(s) with the reproduction, and in some cases, high-resolution image(s) of the work(s) in exchange for permission to reproduce.
Please note that if permission for reproduction is granted, the image(s) of the licensed work(s) must be shown in its entirety without cropping, overwriting, bleeding or distortion or any other alteration, unless prior written approval from the Foundation is delivered to the Licensee.
Details may be published for educational purposes; however, they must be labeled as such and a reproduction of the work in its entirety must be published within the publication as well.
In addition, the cover design, details, labeling, credit line, color proofs of works for which an image is provided by the Foundation must be submitted to the Foundation for final approval prior to publication. The same restrictions apply if a third party provides the image.
