About Angel Perdomo

Angel Perdomo smiles brightly sitting on a stool in front of a plywood wall with several paintings hanging. He is a Honduran man with medium light skin tone, and wears a VonDutch leopard print baseball hat, dark frame glasses and a white t-shirt.

Angel Perdomo was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 1989 and later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his Bachelor of Arts in painting and printmaking from the University of New Orleans in 2013. Angel has been in several juried exhibitions in New Orleans and has also shown nationally. He is a member of the Antenna Collective, in the St. Claude Art District in New Orleans. Angel currently lives and works in New Orleans.

The themes that show up in my work are drawn from pop culture and include things that influenced me while growing up in the South as a Latino immigrant. I draw inspiration from everything around me—life in the South, Chicano art movements, pop culture, and items that remind me of Honduras.”
