In my work I try to restore the ‘thingness’ qualities and properties of raw materials (wood, metal, fabric, etc.) through a trial-and-error-like methodology, allowing materials to have an active role in the art-making process. By doing so, I hope to grant them a voice through which they can convey an interiority (some may even say a subjectivity) that manages to break the spell of objecthood that subjugates them, being the ultimate goal to restore the community of things to which we all belong. I view this as my personal political project.”
