Tracey Snelling is a mixed media artist based in Berlin and Oakland. Her work derives from voyeurism, film noir, and geographical and architectural location. Snelling has had numerous film screenings and exhibitions at venues throughout the US and Europe, including The Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Belgium; Sundance Film Festival; San Francisco International Film Festival; the Frist Center for Visual Arts, Nashville; 21c Museum, Louisville, KY; Smack Mellon, Brooklyn, among many others. Snelling was recently awarded a fellowship with the University of Michigan, Institute for the Humanities, Ann Arbor, Michigan (2017) and completed sculptural commissions for the Museum Historisches Frankfurt and Facebook in Menlo Park (2018). Her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; Baltimore Museum of Art; the Margulies Collection, Miami, FL; the West Collection, Oaks, PA; and 21c Museum, Louisville, KY. Snelling is a recipient of the 2015 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant and is a 2017-18 artist in residence at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin.
