Raised in New Orleans, Theo Eliezer has exhibited artwork internationally, including at the CICA Museum, South Korea; Think Tank Gallery, Los Angeles; Contemporary Art Center, New Orleans; and Cooper Union, New York. She is the co-creator of the print-only artist publication Momma Tried, which has been stocked in locations that include the Tate Modern in London, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and MoMA PS1 in New York. Recent accomplishments include speaking as a conference co-panelist with the artist Mel Chin, a solo exhibition at Ace New Orleans, creating a conceptual augmented reality application for iOS and Android, showing commissioned work at Locust Projects Miami for their 20th anniversary exhibition, and publishing the third issue of Momma Tried.

“My practice is focused on world-building through interconnected narratives in installation, digital and physical artifacts, lens-based media, and related critical theory. As the co-creator of Momma Tried magazine, much of my work explores a literal interpretation of the adage ‘print is dead,’ the implications of media as being subject to mortality, and a feminist analysis of cyborgian identity as an allegory for the rejection of oppressive institutions that often shape the female and queer experience.”
