About This Event

To kick off the celebration of Joan Mitchell's centennial in 2025, the Centre Pompidou and the Joan Mitchell Foundation present a flash performance in honor of Mitchell in the museum's Forum. The performance features arias that Mitchell mentioned in her letters, accompanied by a video showcasing her artwork and portraits of the artist through the years.

Following the performance, the Foundation and the Centre Pompidou will host friends of Mitchell, the Centre, and the Foundation for a private reception in celebration of Joan Mitchell's centennial year. Visitors will also be able to view Joan Mitchell's monumental painting, The Good-Bye Door, on view at Centre Pompidou, Level 5 entrance.
