The Foundation administers copyright permissions for all artworks and written works by Joan Mitchell. All reproduction requests must be submitted through our online form.
Requests to reproduce artworks by Joan Mitchell must be submitted through our online form. You’ll need to provide your contact information and details on your project and image needs. Please allow 10 business days for us to process your request.
If approved, all reproductions of work by Joan Mitchell must be accompanied by the credit line © Estate of Joan Mitchell. Additional credit and/or caption text may be required depending on usage and image source.
Image(s) of the licensed work(s) must be shown in its entirety without cropping, overwriting, bleeding or distortion or any other alteration, unless prior written approval from the Foundation is delivered to the Licensee.
In addition, the cover design, details, labeling, credit line, color proofs of works for which an image is provided by the Foundation must be submitted to the Foundation for final approval prior to publication. The same restrictions apply if a third party provides the image.
