About NH DePass
NH DePass is an artist from New Orleans, LA. His practice as a sculptor is rooted in the physical production of objects and the development of the techniques necessary to create them. Often combining graphic and object-centered elements in the form of narrative based-exhibitions, his work is geared towards installation, fiction, and storytelling. In 2014, he formed the artistic collaboration, Spider and The Bottle, producing and exhibiting large-scale installations internationally.

By continually observing, questioning, and reexamining my environment, I am able to put forth objects that allow us to reimagine the way we see and think about things. For the past couple of years I have been keenly interested in portraiture, and more specifically, the possibility of a portrait succeeding. I found myself wondering, what could an inanimate object really convey, or depict, about something as complex as an individual?”
