Nyeema Morgan is an interdisciplinary artist. Through references to familiar cultural material her conceptually layered works raise questions about how we articulate and construct meaning within a complex system of socio-political relations. Her works have been included in exhibitions at The Drawing Center, NY; The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Boulder, CO; Marlborough Contemporary, NY; The Bindery Projects, MN; Galerie Jeanroch Dard, Paris, France and the CSS Bard Galleries/ Bard College, NY. Morgan has been the recipient of awards from the Joan Mitchell Foundation and the Art Matters Foundation. Her work is included in public collections at the Walker Art Center, The Bowdoin College Art Museum and Worcester Museum. Morgan studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and earned her BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and an MFA from the California College of the Arts.
